Gold Coast’s popular theme parks open on these dates

With the School Holidays about to take place for Queenslanders there comes an opportunity for Queensland School kids to visit some of the worlds most popular theme parks without the crowds.
Gold Coast big theme parks were forced to close in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With the virus circulation at a lower risk, our favourite Australia Theme Parks have announced their reopening in line with the new COVID-safe plans.

With Queensland borders still closed there were always going to be fewer people however this will assist a slow return to normality in a COVID safe manner.

Movie World Gold Coast due to reopen
The Gold Coast theme parks have begun to announce their reopening dates

The Parks under the popular Village Roadshow banner will be the first theme parks to open in Australia.

The 3 Strict COVID guidelines for visitors to the Theme Parks

1. Each of their theme parks will take a conservative approach and only allow up to 50% capacity at each until further notice.
2. Extra sanitation measures will be introduced, and guests will be required to remain 1.5 metres apart from each other.
3. Guests will also be asked to download the new Village Roadshow App. This will allow Guests to prebook rides and enter more streamlined queues.

With so many of the Gold Coast’s theme parks reopening, the only question remaining is which will you enjoy first?

Dress your child for the occasion

Each of the Village Roadshow theme parks will reopen on the following dates:

Movie World: July 15 2020

Regarded as the Hollywood of the Gold Coast, Warner Bros. Movie World is the perfect family day out and the ideal place to create new … Everyone talks about riding the DC Rivals HyperCoaster but imagine … Make your way to the centre of the park before 3:30 pm to enjoy the daily Main Street Parade

Sea World: June 26 2020

SeaWorld is renowned for its up-close animal encounters. Killer whales, dolphins and sea lions have their own family-friendly experiences, which focus on educational aspects of the animals as well as theatrical. One of the great reasons to visit SeaWorld is an education in marine life and believe me, your kids will want to come back again and again.

Visitors who wish to visit Dreamworld and Whitewater World will need to wait a little bit longer as Ardent Leisure who operates these two theme parks, has announced that they will confirm their reopening dates once the Queensland Government confirms the reopening date for Queensland’s borders

Some good news is that their Skypoint Observation Deck at Surfer’s Paradise will reopen on 10 July 2020.

When you purchase a day ticket, you can enter as many times as you wish. An ideal way to watch the ever-changing colours of the ocean as the sun makes its way around the globe. Nowhere else provides such an excellent opportunity to truly appreciate how light can change the whole ambience of a scene.

Learn about the landmarks you’re viewing from the information boards dotted around the observation deck. You can even use the static telescopes (for a fee) to look further afield. Visit between June and October, and you may be lucky enough to see Migaloo the famous male white whale, or Migaloo Junior, the white whale calf.

There’s plenty of comfortable seating so you can relax and admire the views of the canals and creeks on the inland side and check the boating and surfing activities on the ocean side.

The elevator whisks you up to the top in around 40 seconds which doesn’t leave much time to read the information boards containing interesting facts! There’s also a screen on the ceiling of the lift so you can see your progress upward.

The Q1 SkyPoint Observation Deck provides a relaxing setting where you can kick back and relax and take in the 360-degree million-dollar views, unrivalled anywhere else in the world.
