Come along and enjoy the Sunflowers in Greendale this March 2021.
Today, sunflowers remain a highly recognized flower, admired for its sunny charm and delightful disposition. These beauties are also still sourced for their seeds, as well as oils used for cooking and skin emollients. For a flower that reflects so many of the sun’s positive characteristics, it isn’t surprising that people enjoy basking in the sunflower’s warming glow so much.
Wild sunflowers are often photographed with their tall stalks and bright petals stretched towards the sun. Dress the family in some lovely clothes and take your own mini photo shoot
The farmers have encouraged visitors to wear appropriate footwear as you will be walking around a paddock and be alert to local wildlife including bees as they love sunflower pollen.
Bring their own secateurs or loppers but be respectful to sunflowers so others can enjoy them.

When : Open Thursday & Fri 11am-5pm and Sat & Sun 11am-6pm
Cost : Entry $ 5.00 per person includes 1 sunflower (children under 5 free) and an extra $ 2.00 each extra sunflower and CASH ONLY
The owners recommend that you Wear suitable shoes, sunscreen and hats and bring your own Secateurs to cut your flower with as none are provided.

Parents should be aware that there are no toilets but there are some at Greendale Reserve 1.4km away
Keep sunflower seeds to plant next year
Store the sunflowers in a dry cool place (such as a seed saver or plastic bag). Make sure the sunflower seeds are completely dry before storing to be sure no mould grows on the seeds.
